Manchester City forward Jesus Navas says he is relishing the chance to take on their next opponents in the Champions League round of 16.
Pep Guardiola’s side finished second after their final Group C match following their 1-1 draw with Celtic on Tuesday evening.
The Spanish forward says he is delighted to have progressed to the knockout stages of the tournament and says he is relishing the chance to face their next opponents.
‘We created a lot of chances and now we are through to the next round so we are very happy about that,’ Navas told the Manchester City website.
‘We’re looking forward to the next fixture. We’ll face every game as it comes and we have to get the three points in each match.’
Navas believes his side are ready to take on their next opponents in the round of 16 and he insists that his side have been working hard towards preparing for the first leg.
‘We have to be ready – that’s the most important thing,’ he added.
‘We have to work well, as we are doing at the moment, and try to have a good game in the first leg.
‘That would help us ahead of the second one.’
Manchester City will now turn their attention back to the Premier League when they take on Leicester City on Saturday.
The match at King Power Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
