Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says he was ‘very pleased’ with Henrikh Mkhitaryan performances after scoring a superb solo goal against Zorya Luhansk on Thursday.
The Armenian star, who picked up the ball in his own half, dribbled through the Zorya half of the field before placing the ball into the back of the net in the 48th minute following a superb solo effort.
The Portuguese manager has heaped praise on the 28-year-old for his ‘strong mentality’ and his work rate whenever he dons the Red Devils jersey.
‘It was a strong mentality,’ Mourinho told the Manchester United website.
‘He was determined to fight against his difficult adaptation.
‘He worked hard physically and tactically – the talent was there, we knew that when we bought him. Now he’s playing good – in the Premier League, Europa League and EFL Cup, and now the goal means a little more happiness for him, so I’m very pleased.’
Manchester United will now turn their attention back to the Premier League when they take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The match at Old Trafford kicks off at 16:15.
