Mamelodi Sundowns winger Keagan Dolly says his side are relishing the chance to rectify their mistakes when they take on Jeonbuk Hyundai on Wednesday.
The Brazilians fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat against host Kashima Antlers in the quarter-finals on Sunday and will be hoping for a positive finish before heading back home to South Africa.
The 23-year-old admits that he was disappointed with his side’s performance and result but insists that Sundowns has to look at the positives of the experience playing in a tournament of this caliber.
‘I think as a team we played well especially in the first half and we created chances, but like football goes, if you don’t score from the chances you create and the other team takes their chances, you lose the game,’ Dolly told the Mamelodi Sundown website.
‘Overall, however, this was a good experience for us and we can just take out positive things from this and now we can go back to South Africa and grow as a team and individuals.’
The Bafana Bafana international says his side have been handed a second opportunity to prove themselves when they play Korean side Jeonbuk Hyundai in a 5th-6th place playoff on Wednesday.
‘I think in life we always get a second chance to rectify your mistakes and build on what you started,’ He added.
‘I think with us losing against Kashima, we can always go back and see what we did wrong and correct it in training so we’ll be better prepared for our next game against the Koreans.’
The match at the Suita City Football Stadium kicks off at 4:30pm (9:30am local time).
