Free State Stars have confirmed the signing of defender Rooi Mahamutsa and Thamsanqa Teyise to strengthen their defence this season.
The defensive duo has been training with Ea Lla Koto in recent weeks in the hopes of impressing head coach Giovanni Solinas to earn themselves a professional contract with the club.
Both Mahamutsa and Teyise parted ways with their respective clubs, Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United as free agents at the end of the 2015-16 season.
Ea Lla Koto chairman Mike Mokena has confirmed that both Mahamutsa and Teyise has signed for the club and he hopes the arrival of the pair can help Stars stop conceding goals.
‘It is true that we have signed them. I just hope we will stop conceding stupid goals like we did against Cape Town City,’ Mokoena told KickOff.com
‘If you check our goals against Cape Town City they were all embarrassing, so I hope that department will be okay.’
Free State Stars will next take on Baroka when the two side’s meet in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.
The match at Goble Park kicks off at 19:30.
