Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were delighted after both players scored and assisted a goal during Manchester United’s 2-1 win away at Crystal Palace.
Pogba and the Swedish striker scored on either side of James McArthur’s slick second half finish.
‘We knew it was going to be difficult at this stadium,’ Pogba told BT Sport.
‘Tonight we weren’t really happy with the performance of the team but, you know, sometimes you don’t play well and you win.’
The Selhurst Park crowd were unhappy with the opener, scored in first half stoppage time, as Ibrahimovic appeared to have handled the ball as he laid it off for Pogba to tap home.
‘It could have hit my arm,’ Ibrahimovic admitted.
‘I tried to push the ball forward to Paul because I saw he was free. I think it might have touched my hand a little bit and then maybe my stomach but I need to see the images to be sure.’
Pogba believed his side deserved the three points despite his goalkeeper being called on to make a string of fine saves.
‘The games can go both ways but we had more chances than them,’ the France international said, ‘although we had some great saves as well by David De Gea.’
Ibrahimovic has now scored eight goals in his last eight matches but Pogba was given the Man of the Match prize by BT Sport and the Swede joked that his friend could ‘keep the award for him’.
Manchester United are next in action against West Bromwich Albion at 19:30 on Saturday.
