Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen says he was delighted to walk away with a point against a ‘very strong’ Bidvest Wits side at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Wednesday.
Abafana Bes’thende and the Clever Boys were forced to play out to a goalless draw in their Absa Premiership clash on Wednesday evening.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic coach says he was disappointed that his side failed to convert their chances in the first half but insists that he is delighted to have collected a point against a ‘very strong’ Wits side.
‘It was a bit disappointing to go into the half-time break at 0-0 after playing some excellent attacking football. We played with good intensity and tactical discipline in the 1st half,’ Larsen told the Golden Arrows website.
‘We knew Wits would come out stronger after the break as they were a lot more direct and kept us pinned back for large periods of the 2nd half, but we dealt very well with everything they threw at us.
‘In the end, it was a good point against a very strong Wits team.’
Golden Arrows will now be hoping to return to winning ways when they travel to the Peter Mokaba Stadium to face Baroka in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 15:30.
