Chelsea forward Pedro Rodriguez believes Peterborough United fought hard to win despite the League One side’s 4-1 defeat in the FA Cup on Sunday.
The Blues progressed into the fourth round of the tournament with goals coming from Pedro, Michy Batshuayi and Willian.
The 28-year-old says he was delighted with the result of the match but he also praised the championship side, who fought hard to try and overcome the Blues.
‘It was a good win for us in the third round of the FA Cup, especially at home in front of our supporters,’ Pedro told the Chelsea website.
‘There was very good teamwork and we’re very happy with the result.
‘Peterborough are a good team, every game in England is very tough, it doesn’t matter which division you’re in. They fought to win.’
When the Premier League returns, the Blues will take on Leicester City and Pedro insists that his side are working and training hard to get a positive result against the defending champions.
‘Against Spurs it was a different game,’ He added.
‘We lost, but no problem, we just continue taking it game by game.
‘Next we face Leicester, a very difficult team, but we will prepare all week and go for the win.’
The match at King Power Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
