Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says he has mixed feelings about Morgan Schneiderlin’s imminent departure to Everton.
The 53-year-old manager has revealed that the French midfielder is close to joining fellow Premier League side Everton during the transfer window.
‘I have no details but before the match, I was informed by Mr Woodward that the situation is close so Morgan is more than probably going to Everton,’ Mourinho told the Manchester United website.
Mourinho added that he has mixed feelings about Schneiderlin’s imminent move but insists that he will be sad to see the midfielder leave.
‘I’m sad and I’m happy. I’m sad because I like him and he could be an option for us in a long season. I’m happy because this is what he wants, he wants to play every game and wants to be an important player in the team,’ he added.
‘If this is what he wants I’m happy for a very good professional and someone that I can only say good things about.’
Schneiderlin, who joined the club in 2015 from Southampton made 39 appearances in his first season under manager Louis van Gaal, scoring one goal.
However, this season, he has made only three starts and five substitute appearances for the Red Devils under Mourinho.
