Senegal and Algeria played out to a 2-2 draw in the African Cup of Nations, while Tunisia claimed a 4-2 victory over Zimbabwe on Monday.
The Desert Warriors came out firing in the opening exchanges of the match and took the lead in the 10th minute when Islam Slimani guided the ball into the top corner from six yards out after latching onto a cross from Sofiane Hanni.
Senegal responded well and got their first real chance at goal when Ismaila Sarr unleashed a shot from outside the area but he was denied by a good save from Algerian goalkeeper Malik Asselah.
However, the Lions of Teranga levelled matters shortly after the break when Papakouly Diop found the bottom left corner after striking his shot from outside the box to make it 1-1.
Algeria took the lead for the second time in the match when Slimani hit the back of the net after latching onto a cross from Riyad Mahrez.
However, the Lions of Teranga responded quickly and soon levelling matters moments later when. Moussa Sow found the back of the net with a shot from outside the area.
The Desert Warriors were unable to find the winning goal and ended their tournament third in Group B, while Senegal retained their spot at the summit of the table.
Tunisia claimed a 4-2 victory over Zimbabwe to progress to the quarter-final of the Africa Cup of Nations.
However, Tunisia proved too strong for Zimbabwe, who have now crashed out of the competition at the foot of the table, while Tunisia progressed to the knockout stage.
