Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho feels his side deserved to beat Wigan Athletic following their 4-0 victory at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils progressed to the next round of the FA Cup through goals by Marouane Fellaini, Chris Smalling, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The Portuguese manager believes his side were well-deserved winners of the match after putting four goals past the championship side.
‘We deserved to win. The first half was not very good but we managed to be 1-0 in front. The goal gave us a different second half, it gave us a chance at half-time to speak with the players and make them feel the first half was not good enough,’ Mourinho told the Manchester United website.
‘We spoke about changing a few things in the dynamic of the team. The guys obviously accepted it well because the second half was much better.’
Manchester United will now turn their focus back to the Premier League when they face Hull City on Wednesday.
The match at Old Trafford kicks off at 22:00.
