Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he is already aiming for more goals after scoring his 20th of the season during his side’s 3-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday.

The 35-year-old became the first United player to break out of the teens in terms of goals since Robin van Persie netted 30 in all competitions in his debut campaign at the club back in 2013-14.

Whatever figure Zlatan wants to finish his first United season with will remain a secret for now, but he insists it’s achievable and indicates it’s more realistic than the incredible 50 he hit for Paris Saint-Germain last term.

The Swedish striker says he is keeping his goal-scoring target for the season to himself as he has already netted 20 goals in all competitions, with no sign of stopping anytime soon.

‘I have a target in my head but I will not say it!” Ibrahimovic told the Manchester United website.

‘I am not there yet. But I have set a target and that is something I have been doing every year. It is nothing new for me. I keep producing. I do my best and I get a lot of help from my team-mates. I know there were many people who said I wouldn’t even score 20 but that is nothing I focus on.

‘I have 20 goals and seven assists and the target is in reach like it’s been before in other years, except for last year which was a crazy year!

He added: ‘Everything motivates me – all the targets, all the critics, the atmosphere, coming to the Premier League and bringing more followers to the Premier League.’

Manchester United will next take on Watford at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.

Kick-off has been set for 17:00.
