Kaizer Chiefs defender Lorenzo Gordinho says he will continue to work hard in order to improve his current form this season.
The 22-year-old was recently award as the Absa Player of the Month for his performance during August and September 2016.
Gordinho says his hard work during training has paid off, having already scored three goals this season.
‘I’ve been consistent and, most importantly, being able to help the team win games. I’ve been scoring goals which is one of the areas I have been working on,’ Gordinho told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
‘This award will make me to work even harder. This is not the end of it. It’s like tasting something good, you want more of it. It also shows that hard work pays off,’ he added.
Gordinho was presented with a trophy and a cheque worth R5 000 for his performance on Monday afternoon at the PSL headquarters.
The Amakhosi defender will be hoping to continue his current for and say he is relishing the chance to take to the field again.
‘I am happy and plan to continue what I have started. I want to be part of history and that means winning trophies with Kaizer Chiefs,’ Gordinho said.
‘We can’t wait to get the ball rolling. Stars are a hard working team. They are dangerous, but we are ready and we want to continue where we left off before the break.’
