Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has revealed that Venezuelan striker Gustavo Paez is available for selection ahead of their Absa Premiership clash against Free State Stars on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old striker recently joined the Glamour Boys as a free agent during the January transfer window.
The Amakhosi coach has now revealed that the club’s new signing has earned himself a spot in the team after impressing him during training.
‘Gustavo is available for selection,’ Komphela told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
‘He has earned himself a place in the squad by good performances at the training ground. We have done all what we needed to do during the break to get the team ready.’
Komphela believes his side have been preparing well for their next Absa Premiership encounter and he is confident his side can overcome Ea Lla Koto.
‘We went to the break with a draw and two wins in a row. We have been working hard during the January break. I think we are ready to win matches, starting tonight,’ He added.
‘We are aware of the changes in their set-up which makes them a bit of a closed book. They have signed new players and brought in a new coach in Serame Letsoaka. We will rely on our strengths and observe their plan as the game progresses. However, the intelligence that we have on them should be enough to win the match.’
Kaizer Chiefs will next welcome Free State Stars to the FNB Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday.
Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
