Kaizer Chiefs coach Steven Komphela has praised Highlands Park’s performance following their 1-0 victory at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
The Glamour Boys have now won their second of the three home Absa Premiership matches played this season, after beating Ajax Cape Town in the first and drawing with Baroka in the second.
The 49-year-old has praised the Lions of the north’s performance by insisting that they put up a good fight and made it difficult for Amakhosi to play their style of football.
‘Compliments to Highlands Park. They fought hard and they certainly didn’t make it easy for us.’ Komphela told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
Komphela says he was pleased with Daniel Cardoso’s defensive work, as he replaced the suspended Eric Mathoho.
‘Eric Mathoho was suspended for the Highlands Park match and that resulted in Daniel Cardoso coming in to replace him, doing well. We have a squad of 32 players and everybody can play,’ he added.
‘We are Kaizer Chiefs. We will always target every trophy that is available.’
Kaizer Chiefs will next travel to the Cape Town Stadium when they take on Ajax Cape Town in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 20:15.
