Chippa United coach Dan Malesela believes Rhulani Manzini’s dismissal impacted the outcome of their Absa Premiership match against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.
The Chilli Boys fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Phunya Sele Sele through a brace by Musa Nyatama, who scored two second half goals to hand his side their first win of 2017.
Chippa lost the services of key player Rhulani Manzini, who was sent off in the first half following an off the ball incident which lead to an automatic red card.
The 51-year-old believes Manzini’s dimissal played a huge role in the outcome of their match, but he remains confident that the Chilli Boys will bounce back in their next Absa Premiership encounter.
‘The loss of Rhulani (Manzini) had an impact on the outcome. We showed a lot of character today, despite playing with 10 men for most of the game,’ Malesela told the Chippa United website.
‘I have no doubt that we will bounce back even stronger from this loss.
‘We have a recovery session on Monday morning back in PE and then we start preparations for the next game.’
Chippa United will now host Golden Arrows at Sisa Dukashe Stadium in the Absa Premiership on on Friday.
Kick-off has been set for 20:00.
