Manchester United were forced to share the spoils with Bournemouth after playing out to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
United got off to a good start and dominated the opening exchanges when they forced Bournemouth goalkeeper into making a few fine saves to keep the score level at 0-0.
However, the Red Devils broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute when Marcos Rojo latched onto a cross from Antonio Valencia, before putting the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0.
Bournemouth were awarded a penalty in the 38th minute when Marc Pugh was brought down by Phil Jones. Joshua King stepped up to take the penalty and made no mistake from the spot-kick to make it 1-1.
On the stroke of half-time, the visiting side were then reduced to 10 men when Andre Surman was sent off after picking up a second yellow card.
Jose Mourinho’s side continued to dominate proceedings in the second half, but failed to carve out any opportunities in the final third.
However, the home side were then awarded a penalty of their own when Adam Smith handled in the area. When Zlatan Ibrahimovic stepped up to take the spot-kick, his penalty was saved by Boruc.
The Red Devils pressed forward in search of a late winner, but they were unable to find the all-important goal as they were forced to settle for a point each at Old Trafford.
