Clinton Larsen insists that his side produced a competitive performance despite having four injury setback during their 1-0 victory over Maritzburg United on Saturday.
Abafana Bes’thende claimed a narrow victory over the Team of Choice after Knox Mutizwa scored the only goal of the match to help his side walked away with all three points at the Chatsworth Stadium.
The 46-year-old coach believes his side produced a good performance but admits that Arrows needed to be more composed in the final third.
‘After being so depleted by injuries this was a massive win for the club. We were defensively sound throughout the match restricting our opponents to mostly shooting from distance,’ Larsen told the Golden Arrows website.
‘The energy and intensity was clearly evident although we needed a bit more composure in our play. Due to injuries to KG, Cele, Phiri and Ntanga we were left quite thin but still managed to give a competitive performance.’
Abafana Bes’thende are currently placed sixth in the Absa Premiership standings with 27 points and having won just seven out of 20 matches played so far this season.
Golden Arrows will next take on Platinum Stars when the two sides meet in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday.
The match at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
