Chippa United left back Pentjie Zulu says he is solely focused on the opportunity to grow and develop, both as a player and a person.
The former Jomo Cosmos joined the Chilli Boys from Bidvest Wits after signing a three-year contract during the January transfer window, but has struggled to secure game time at the club.
Zulu insists that his disciplinary issues are behind him, and he is solely focused on fighting for a place in the Chilli Boys first time.
‘I had few challenges which were addressed by Management. I apologised to everyone in the team, and this is now all behind us. I am working hard fighting for my place in the team,’ Zulu told the Chippa United website.
‘I never had any doubts from the day I arrived here, that Chippa United Football Club offers me an opportunity to grow not only as a player but a responsible citizen, especially for what the club represents to the people in the province.’
The 26-year-old says he is determined to win silverware with the club, and is looking forward to helping Chippa go as far as they can in every competition this season.
‘I want to win silverware with the team and with one cup to go before the end of the season we want to see how far we can go,’ he added.
‘There is a lot to play for, and for us, at this point in time, we are focusing on our next game, Cape Town City.
‘We have most of the players back in training following a few injury concerns. The fight for places in the team is fierce as ever. Personally, I want to use the FIFA break as an opportunity to knuckle down.’
Chippa United will next take Cape Town City at Athlone Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Monday, April 3.
Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
