Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez insists he will continue to work hard to be one of the world’s best players until he ends his professional career.
The Chilean international has been in outstanding form for the Gunners so far this season and he has already netted 22 goals and assisted a further 18 from 32 appearances in all competitions.
The 28-year-old says he will continue to work hard to become one of the best players in the world until his decides to retire from football.
‘I have always been like this. My career won’t last forever and I am aiming to be one of the best players in the world. I want to do my best and be professional until my career ends,’ Alexis told the Arsenal website.
‘I enjoy football a lot, I always wanted to be one of the best players in the world and I’ve been saying that since I was a little boy. I will slow down after I retire, but for the time being, I will carry on like this.
‘I just try to train well, sleep well and be professional at my job. There’s not much of a secret to it.’
The Gunners are currently placed sixth in the Premier League standings, level on 50 points with Everton, having won 15 out of 27 matches played so far this season.
Arsenal will now welcome Manchester City to the Emirates Stadium when the two sides meet in the Premier League on Sunday.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 17:00.
