Bafana Bafana right back Diamond Thopola says he is patiently waiting for my chance to make his debut ahead of their international friendly against Angola on Tuesday.
The South African national team are set to face Angola at the Buffalo City Stadium in East London, for the 13th meeting between the two sides, having already beaten Guinea-Bissau 3-1 over the weekend.
However, Thopola, who has been in the Bafana Bafana squad for the past year, is yet to make his official debut for the senior national team.
The 27-year-old admits that he is patiently waiting for his chance to don the Bafana Bafana jersey but insists that he will support the team whether he plays or not.
‘In football, the most important thing is to give your all at training. I am patiently waiting for my chance, if I get the nod I will grab it with both hands, and if not I will support my teammates. The team comes first,’ Thopola told the Chippa United website.
‘There is a good vibe at camp at the present moment. We are all there for one another and it showed on the pitch on Saturday.’
Bafana Bafana will now take on Angola in their second international friendly match on Tuesday.
The match at the Buffalo City Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
