Cape Town City have confirmed the signing of Malawian international Isaac Kaliati to strengthen their squad in their bid to win the Absa Premiership title this season.
The Cape side are currently placed at the summit of the Absa Premiership standings with 39 points, and have accumulated the most number of wins, with 11 out of 21 matches played so far this season.
Meanwhile, second-placed Bidvest Wits are hot on City’s heels, trailing them by a point, with two matches in hand over Erick Tinkler’s side.
Tinkler’s side have now been boosted by the signing of the 18-year-old Malawian international to strengthen the squad in their pursuit of silverware this season.
The 18-year-old was on trial at the club during March and has impressed head coach Tinkler, earning himself a professional contract with the MTN 8 champions.
The club confirmed on their official Twitter account that they would be announcing a new signing on Friday.
‘We’ve made a very exciting signing to add to our fantastic attack force,’ City reported.
Cape Town City will resume their Absa Premiership campaign when they take on Chippa United on Monday.
The match at Athlone Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
