Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi says he is satisfied with his side’s performance against Manchester City, following their 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Gunners duo Theo Walcott and Shkodran Mustafi cancelled out Leroy Sane and Sergio Aguero’s goals to help Arsene Wenger’s side collect a point against City.
The 20-year-old admits that it was a very ‘tough’ match, but he insists that he is delighted to have taken a point out of the match after coming back twice to force a 2-2 draw.
‘We’ll take the result, but we could have nicked it at the end. I had a good chance to score, but unfortunately, we’ll have to settle for a point,’ Iwobi told the Arsenal website.
‘It was a very tough match and we were behind twice, so I guess we have to be satisfied with that.’
However, the Nigerian still believes that the Gunners stand a chance of finishing in the Premier League top four this season, but says they will take it game by game.
‘Of course, we still have that belief. We believe that we can win every game and that’s the goal, so we’ll take it step by step to see where we end up at the end of the season,’ he added.
The former Arsenal youth product has so far netted four goals and assisted a further seven from 36 appearance in all competitions this season.
Iwobi says he is confident that Wenger will produce the right game plan to walk away with a positive result against the Hammers on Wednesday.
‘We’ll let the manager decide what the plan will be for Wednesday, but I’m sure we’ll be able to get the right tactics, the right team and hopefully the right result,’ Iwobi concluded.
Arsenal will next take on West Ham United in their midweek Premier League fixture on Wednesday.
The match at the Emirates Stadium kicks off at 20:45.
