Crystal Palace dented Arsenal’s top-four hopes after they cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory at Selhurst Park on Monday evening.
Andros Townsend gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute he put the ball into the back of the net from close-range after latching onto a pass from Wilfried Zaha, despite Arsenal dominating possession in the first half.
Palace then doubled their lead in the 63rd minute when Yohan Cabaye’s looping effort found the back of the net, leaving the Gunners shot-stopper Emiliano Martinez no chance.
However, Palace were then awarded a penalty after Martinez brought down Townsend in the box. Luka Milivojevic stepped up to take the penalty and made no mistake from the spot kick to make it 3-0.
The Eagles are now placed 16th in the Premier League standings with 34 points and have won 10 out of 31 matches played so far this season, while the Gunners sits sixth with 54 points.
