SuperSport United captain Dean Furman believes his side will return to winning ways when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the Absa Premiership on Thursday.

The Brazilians and Matsatsantsa are set to lock horns in the Absa Premiership when the two sides go head-to-head in the latest Tshwane derby.

Matasatasa currently occupy fourth place in the Absa Premiership standings with 37 points, having won nine out of 21 matches played so far this season, whilst Sundowns sit in fifth spot – trailing SuperSport by two points.

The 28-year-old midfielder will be hoping his side can return to winning ways after suffering their second defeat in the Absa Premiership this season against Baroka.

‘To go and lose to Baroka was a big blow to us. We want to be back on top and we have a good opportunity to do that,’ Furman said speaking ahead of the Tshwane derby.

‘If they are planning to score two goals, then we will have to score three.

‘Our fans have been brilliant this season, they have followed is across the country.’

Meanwhile, Reneilwe Letsholonyane insists that fans can expect an entertaining Tshwane derby filled with goals but the midfielder admits that it won’t be an easy heading into the encounter and playing against the defending champions.

‘Derbies are always tough, they are definitely not easy. I think we will see goals,’ Letsholonyane said.

‘The guys just returned this morning and they are resting but we will meet tomorrow to prepare.

‘The difference between the two derbies is that the other one is too hyped and obviously the number of supporters.’

SuperSport United will now go head-to-head against their Tshwane rivals Mamelodi Sundowns when the two sides meet in the Absa Premiership for a mouthwatering clash on Thursday.

The match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium kicks off at 18:00.
