Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana says they will be aiming to put an end to their five-game winless streak when they host SuperSport United in an Absa Premiership encounter on Thursday.
The Chloorkop based-outfit occupy fifth spot on the table having amassed 35 from their 19 allotted matches in the campaign thus far, however victory against their cross-town rivals could see the Brazilians leapfrog their opponents into fourth spot on the table.
Kekana highlighted the need to garner a victory in the wake of their recent disappointing league form.
‘The match will be very tough because it’s a derby. We are looking forward to the match,’ he said in a press conference ahead of the Tshwane Derby.
‘We’ve had a bad run but I’ve been speaking to Khama and I told him to score two goals against SuperSport. It is not an easy task to represent a brand like Masandawana. We want to win this match for bragging rights.
‘Dean (Furman) knows that when we are in the national team, we always brag about who won the derby,’ he added.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwean international Khama Billiat says he is itching to make an impact against SuperSport, whilst also alluding to his sides recent injury woes.
‘I have been out with injuries but I am back now and I am hoping to get back to my best. I think we will see goals.
‘We have the best medical and technical team and they know how to manage us,’ he concluded.
Mamelodi Sundowns will face SuperSport United in an Absa Premiership encounter on Thursday night.
The match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium kicks at 18:00.
