Mamelodi Sundowns forward Khama Billiat says he fully fit and back to his best after netting a brace in his side’s emphatic 5-0 victory against SuperSport United on Thursday evening.
The Zimbabwe international proved instrumental for Masandawana as he had a hand in all the goals against SuperSport on the night- assisting three and netting two.
The former Ajax Cape Town man revealed that the victory could signal the end of Sundowns’ bad run of form in addition to commenting on captain Hlompho Kekana prophesying his brace against Stuart Baxter’s men.
‘Firstly, I just want to thank God. I’m back, I feel strong,’ he said in post-match comments.
‘And thanks to the medical team and the technical team, everyone has been there for me. The players, the captain – they have been truly supporting – and my family as well. This I just want to dedicate it to the supporters, we haven’t been getting points as much as we have wanted.
‘Ya, I hope this is the beginning of the victories and the way we want to play and ya, my team mates have been working very hard but not getting results so I hope this is the beginning.
‘We believe in each other, we know each others strengths and I haven’t been scoring goals since I cam back and I always want to score goals to help the team.
‘We haven’t been scoring goals as a team. So we have been working very hard with the coach, extra training with the strikers and ya we getting goals. I am happy I scored as it was predicted by the skipper,’ he concluded.
Sundowns will look to maintain their winning ways when they face Free State Stars in an Absa Premiership encounter on Sunday April 16 at 15:00.
