Kaizer Chiefs physiotherapist Dave Milner has revealed that defender Tsepo Masilela is set to make his return after suffering a thigh strain injury on Saturday.
Masilela appeared to be limping off the pitch when he was substituted in the 77th minute of the thrill-a-minute win over Chippa United.
The 31-year-old has so far created one assist and has made 13 appearances in all competitions for the Soweto giants this season.
The club’s physiotherapist has revealed that the defender is expected to return from injury ahead of their upcoming Nedbank Cup clash against SuperSport United.
‘Tsepo has a thigh strain. He is expected to be fine in the coming days. He will require some rest to help him with recovery to full training,’ Milner told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
The Glamour Boys currently occupy second place in the Absa Premiership standings, level on 45 points with leaders Cape Town City, who also have the same goal difference.
Amakhosi coach Steve Komphela claims that he is getting his squad fit and ready for their next encounter, after playing four games in the last two weeks.
‘We are currently getting the bodies back into shape,’ Komphela said.
‘We will work in steps to get the lads ready for the next match. It is not easy, but they (pointing at the players) look very good.’
Kaizer Chiefs will now turn their attention to their Nedbank Cup quarter-finals clash against SuperSport United on Saturday.
The match at the FNB Stadium kicks off at 18:00.
