SuperSport United striker Jeremy Brockie will be hoping to dent Cape Town City’s title hopes when the two sides meet in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday.
In Matsatsantsa most recent game against Polokwane City, Brockie scored a sublime volley from an acute angle to put his side ahead following their 3-2 win at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
However, United reclaimed the lead in the 58th minute when Brockie latched on to a lofted ball by Dean Furman, before volleying the ball into the top corner to make it 2-1.
The 29-year-old insists his side would like to finish their remaining Absa Premiership matches on a positive note, starting with their clash against Eric Tinkler’s side.
‘It’s obviously a big game against Cape Town City. We are now officially out of the race for this season’s league title,’ Brockie told the SuperSport United website.
‘They are still in the race, but we aim to beat them. We want to do well in our remaining league matches and finish the season on a good note.
‘We haven’t had enough time to prepare for City because we have been travelling a lot lately. But we will be ready for them.’
SuperSport United will now take on Cape Town City title in a thrilling Absa Premiership on Tuesday.
The match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
