Coenie Oosthuizen says being dropped from the Springbok squad last year was a low point in his life.
The Sharks prop said he went back to his franchise and worked hard to be in contention for Bok selection.
That effort paid off when Oosthuizen was first invited to the Bok training camps, and then included in the 31-man squad for the series against France.
‘When I was left out [of the squad last year] it was really not a good time in my life,’ said Oosthuizen. ‘That is when you realise how much you miss the Bok environment; it really is something special. Looking back, I can now I can say it was a low point in my life, and that made me work so much harder to overcome that disappointment.’
Oosthuizen scored a barnstorming try in Durban last Saturday, when the Boks clinched the series with 37-15 win.
