Orlando Pirates coach Kjell Jonevret says he’ll head into the Nedbank Cup final against SuperSport United with a different mindset and put past experiences behind them.
The Buccaneers will be hoping to redeem themselves when they take on Matsatsantsa at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday. Last year, United emerged winners when the two sides met in the finals.
Jonevret insists that he and his side will be heading into the match with a different mindset and put their past experience aside and focus on the task at hand.
‘Football is little like a chess. You start something that you have expected, but suddenly you need to do something totally different, and that is football also. You have to change. You can’t have and say this one is going to work ninety minutes, you have to change,’ Jonevret told KickOff.com.
‘Even if you know exactly how SuperSport used to play out there [on the field], but [circumstances change] out there, so I think for coaches so obsessed about what happened in the past two, three games; I don’t think is very important.’
Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United are set to go head-to-head in the Nedbank Cup finals on Saturday.
Kick-off has been set for 20:15.
