Rigoberto Uran won stage nine of the Tour de France in a photo finish on Sunday, while Geraint Thomas and Richie Porte crashed out of the race.
Cannondale-Drapac’s Uran pipped Warren Barguil of Team Sunweb, but the crashes attracted the most attention.
Team Sky’s Thomas appeared to have broken his collarbone after crashing on the damp descent of the Col de la Biche, while BMC Racing’s Porte went down on the descent of the Mont du Chat.
BMC team doctor Florence Pommieur later said that Porte did not lose consciousness and the neck brace was fitted as a precaution.
Haven’t watched today’s stage and 100% won’t be after reading some of my mates have been hurt. Really hope all who crashed today are ok.
