Cape Town City winger Lyle Lakay says he is relishing the chance to hit the ground running at his new club ahead of the new season.
The 25-year-old recently joined the Citizens after spending time at SuperSport United and five seasons at Bloemfontein Celtic.
The winger’s deal was held up by a contractual dispute between the two clubs, but the matter was dealt with by the PSL dispute resolution chamber. A swap deal was then agreed, which saw Given Mashikinya go the other way.
Lakay says is looking forward to starting his new venture with his new team as they prepare for their second season in the Absa Premiership.
‘Celtic got something and I get to be where I want to be. So, it is settled and there is no beef. No hard feelings,’ Lakay told the Sowetan Live.
‘I’m really enjoying it, not that I wasn’t enjoying it at Celtic, and to be home also with my family. I’m that sort of person who thrives on being around my family. It’s something good for me.’
