Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has urged his team to get back to winning ways in the Absa Premiership, following their 2-1 loss to table-toppers Baroka.
Bakgaga came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory against Chiefs after goals by Lewis Macha and Gift Motupa cancelled out George Maluleka’s early strike to condemn the Soweto giants to their second defeat of the season.
Following the encounter, Komphela received backlash from a large majority of the Chiefs fanbase in attendance at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. However, the former Maritzburg United mentor has encouraged his charges to change the mindset of the fans by winning their games.
‘We are supposed to answer the backlash of our supporters through the performance on the pitch,’ he told the club’s official website.
‘Nothing but winning will convince our supporters.
‘We simply have to work even harder to get back to winning ways,’ he concluded.
The Naturena-based outfit will look to defend their Macufe Cup title when they face Bloemfontein Celtic in the final on Sunday afternoon, with kick-off set for 15:00.
