Steve Komphela has warned Kaizer Chiefs against complacency ahead of the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates on Saturday afternoon.
Komphela’s side head into the encounter on the back of a morale-boosting 2-1 win over Mamelodi Sundowns, while Pirates could only muster a 1-1 draw against early-relegation threatened Platinum Stars.
The former Maritzburg United mentor reminded his outfit about the fine line between confidence and arrogance as they look to secure maximum points against their arch-rivals.
‘There’s a fine line between arrogance and confidence – we need to stay confident without being too arrogant,’ Komphela told reporters.
‘It was a nice confidence boost winning a match, but again, we said it when we went to Baroka – they wanted it more and they got it. When we went to Sundowns, we wanted it more and we got it.
‘We’ll go to Pirates and we need to have the same feeling, because if you think otherwise then you’ll have problems, and we don’t want to go through problems,’ he said.
The two sides face off at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off at 15:30.
