The Proteas have won the toss and opted to bat in the first T20I against Bangladesh in Bloemfontein.
JP Duminy will lead the Proteas side in Faf du Plessis’ injury-enforced absence. Du Plessis hurt his back in the third ODI against Bangladesh last Sunday, and has been ruled out of the T20I series.
After winning the toss on Thursday, Duminy said: ‘It looks like a decent wicket and will remain so over the course of both innings. Hopefully we can post a good total, and defend it.’
The 33-year-old all-rounder Robbie Frylinck will make his debut for the Proteas.
