Virat Kohli became the first Test captain to score six double-centuries with his 243 against Sri Lanka in the third Test at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
The India skipper’s knock came off 287 balls and included 25 fours, as he helped his side to 523-6 before the fall of his wicket. India managed 536-7d before pollution stopped play with Sri Lanka on 131-3 (44.3 overs)

This was his second successive double-ton, having struck 213 in Nagpur in the second Test and puts him in an elite club of only six batsmen to have achieved this feat in Test history.
Kohli set a new record for most double-centuries as captain, scoring his sixth and going past Brian Lara who had five.
Up until 2015, Kohli did not score a double century with 11 hundreds in 41 Tests and a previous highest score of 169.
Since then though the skipper has converted six of his nine centuries into doubles within the space of 18 months, 33 innings and 22 Tests.
His 243 is now his career-best score, going past his 235 against England at Wankhede last year.
