Kaizer Chiefs has officially unveiled their new signing Colombian striker Leonardo Castro ahead of the January transfer window. The 28-year-old was unveiled by Amakhosi on Monday, two days after Steve Komphela’s side reached an agreement with Mamelodi Sundowns over the sale of the striker. The Colombian struggled to find a starting berth in the Sundowns side this season after forming part of the formidable ‘CBD’, which consisted of Castro, Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly.
However, Castro has only managed to make three appearances for Sundowns this campaign after helping the club clinch the Absa Premiership title, Caf Champions League Cup, Caf Super Cup and the Telkom Knockout Cup during the 2016-17 campaign.
The former Club Universitario de Sucre striker will be expected to hit the ground running when the Premiership resumes on 5 January 2018, with the Amakhosi desperate to win silverware this season.
