Cape Town City have confirmed that they have parted ways with former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker Lehlohonolo Majoro.
Majoro joined the club from Pirates in August 2016, but will not continue his stay with the club after they confirmed that his contract which comes to an end in 2018 will not be extended.
The club took to their official website and social media platforms to release a statement regarding Majoro’s future.
‘As one of the founding members Major will always have a special place at this club,’ the statement read.
‘He loved it like a family and over his time here he defined what it means to be a Cape Town City player.
‘Major was in the last few months of his contract so rather than hold him until May, we decided to support him to find a new club where he can extend his career a few more years and get more game time.
‘We welcome his return after football in Cape Town, and for now we wish him well.
The former AmaZulu man scored 11 goals in 41 appearances for the Citizens in all competitions, helping them clinch the Telkom Knockout titlee last year.
Reports suggest that Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United have shown an interest in the 31-year-old.
