Kaizer Chiefs has revealed that new signing Kabelo Mahlasela has suffered a knee injury during his first training session with Amakhosi.
The 26-year-old midfielder recently joined Amakhosi on a two-and-a-half-year deal from fellow Absa Premiership side Bloemfontein Celtic .
Chiefs physiotherapist David Milner confirmed that Mahlasela picked up a knee injury during training, but insists the club is already nursing him.
‘His knee got into a bad position after an unlucky tackle,’ Milner told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
‘He’s injured a meniscus inside the knee joint. The injury is similar to the one Ramahlwe Mphahlele had.
‘We did do his medicals on Wednesday and Thursday before training and he came through his tests without any problems.’
The club revealed that Mahlasela is expected to undergo more tests on his injury on Monday, with an update due to be released on Tuesday.
