The Proteas Women sealed a whitewash series victory as they beat Bangladesh by 23 runs in a rain-affected nine-over clash in Bloemfontein.
The hosts batted first after play finally got under way. There were three overs of power play, with a limit of four bowlers bowling two overs and one taking the final over.
Salma Khatun was Bangladesh’s best bowler, finishing with figures of 2-18, as the Proteas scored at 7.55 runs per over and posted 64-4 in their reduced overs.
Tazmin Brits was the Proteas’ top scorer as she finished with 29 while Dane van Niekerk was the only other batter to reach double figures with 12.
Bangladesh couldn’t keep up with the required run rate and only managed 4.55 per over. This was due to brilliant bowling once again from the home side. Ayabonga Khaka was top notch, finishing with 3-10 while Marizanne Kapp recorded figures of 2-8, as they restricted the visitors to 41-6.
This sealed a 3-0 whitewash for the Proteas in a dominant limited-over series for the hosts.
