Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says it will not be easy to motivate his player ahead of their Caf Champions League clash against Horoya on Tuesday.

The Brazilians played Spanish giants Barcelona in the Nelson Mandela Centenary Cup at the FNB Stadium last week and will now take on Horoya in Conakry, Guinea.

Mosimane hopes his side will be mentally motivated for their clash against the Guinean side after facing the likes of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Luiz Suarez last week.

‘I really hope that my team will be motivated because before we came here we won the league in South Africa. There were celebrations and then we played the biggest team in the world, with Iniesta and Messi. After you come from that, we only hope the team is motivated, which is not easy mentally,’ Mosimane told the media.

‘You play Barcelona and then you travel 19 hours. I can’t answer for the team, I can only see if the team is okay mentally. So their motivation should be [winning] the Champions League.’

The Sundowns mentor insists he has done his homework on the champions of Guinea, stating that they are a club that enjoys playing from the back.

‘I have an idea about the team. It’s a very good team. They are the best team in Guinea, they are the champions and they have a very good foreign coach from France [Victor Zvunka],’ he added.

‘He is an import and he brings something different. What I like about the team is that they play from the back. They pass the ball, they don’t just kick the ball forward. They have good centre-backs, their right-back overlaps a lot.

‘We will try to win. If we don’t win, we must make sure we don’t lose.’
