Bevan Fransman says he is proud of what his former teammate Siyanda Xulu has accomplished during the 2017-18 campaign.
Xulu, who joined the Team of Choice from Kaizer Chiefs, was recently named Absa Premiership Defender of the Year after making 38 appearances in all competitions while helping his side reach the Nedbank Cup final and a club-record fourth-place finish in the PSL this season.
Fransman has reserved special praise for the Bafana Bafana captain and he believes Xulu will continue to improve in his career.
‘He had a fantastic season and the contribution he made was great. For me, he is going to be involved with this award for some years to come, if he continues the way he is going. So I am very proud of him,’ Fransman said.
‘The Bafana Bafana captaincy speaks volumes. They don’t just hand that out to anybody. Stuart [Baxter] and the technical team in the national side see the quality that we see as well. It’s fantastic for his career and I think he is going to grow from strength to strength now.’
