Orlando Pirates have acquired the services of French specialist coach for finishing, Stéphane Adam in a bid to put an end to their four-year trophy drought in the 2018-19 campaign.

The Soweto giants took to their official website to publicise a statement. Pirates’ acqusition of Adam comes months after the club bolstered their technical team with the additions of Andrew Sparkes (goalkeeper coach), Darian Wilken and Franck Plaine, who will form part of the Buccaneers’ football analysis department.

‘Stéphane Adam has been appointed to the Orlando Pirates first team where he will serve as a specialist coach for finishing,’ a statement on the club’s official website read.

‘Adam is a former player himself with a career spanning over 14 years where he played for clubs such as Lille and FC Metz in France before joining Scottish club Hearts where [he] made over 140 appearances for the club.

‘The French-born coach joins the Buccaneers from French outfit Lille,’ the statement read.

Pirates do duty against Highlands Park in their opening league encounter at the Orlando Stadium on 4 August with kickoff set for 8pm.
