The 22-year-old controlled the ball in the area after latching on to a cross before blasting the ball past Kasper Schmeichel to find the back of the net.
Speaking to his club’s official website, Mothiba said: ‘Achieving safety is a great satisfaction, the match was a very important step for us in the race to maintain (our status). We played well and we gave everything in both halves, and we are very happy to have won and stayed in Ligue 1 next season.
‘It’s a special night for me because I scored two goals for Lille and it keeps the club alive in Ligue 1. It’s something I will never forget and it motivates me to keep working for progress.’
