Al Ahly are considering offers for Phakamani Mahlambi, who is training on his own after handing in a transfer request less than a year after joining the eight-time Caf Champions League winners in a record-breaking deal.
The former PSL Young Player of the Year completed a move to Al Ahly in September last year, but failed to establish himself as a regular in the team, having made 12 appearances for the Egyptian giants, scoring once and notching up five assists.

The 20-year-old was poised for a regular role under Patrice Carteron for the new season after an injury to Junior Ajayi; however, things quickly went pear-shaped for Mahlambi, who was slapped with a fine after going awol.
Mahlambi’s agent Glyn Binkin confirmed that the player has handed in his transfer request and was subsequently asked to train on his own by the Red Devils.

‘He is training alone as he has requested a transfer from the club,’ Binkin told Times Live.
‘There are no injury issues or other issues whatsoever‚’ he concluded.

It remains to be seen whether Mamelodi Sundowns are still interested in Mahlambi’s services, having recently acquired Lebohang Maboe from Maritzburg United.
