Bafana Bafana attacker Oswin Appollis says coach Hugo Broos has a “winning mentality” and wants the team to win all their matches.
South Africa booked their place in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after claiming a 3-0 victory over South Sudan in their final Group K clash at the DHL Stadium.
Bafana finished top of the Group K standings after goals from Iqraam Rayners Patrick Maswanganyi and Teboho Mokoena led the team to victory in Cape Town.
Appollis has reserved special praise for the Belgian mentor as he continues to push his players to improve to get the best out of them.
“No, I was not surprised because he wanted to win and he has a winning mentality,” Appollis told SABC Sport.
“There are no such games as friendlies or so, he wants us to win all the games we play.
“I have to give credit to coach Hugo for looking at me and giving me an opportunity and for that I will always be proud, and I just want to thank the boys for today. Everyone fought.
“The players from the bench played a big part in coming in and happy for the result,” added the Polokwane City talisman.
