Shakes Mashaba’s Bafana Bafana side have discovered which three teams they will face in the qualifiers for a place in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
This is the final and decisive stage of the continent’s preliminary competition, with 20 teams from the Caf region still in the running for five places at 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.
The draw for the third round of African Zone qualifiers for the 2018 Fifa World Cup took place in Cairo, Egypt, with a host of top teams in the pot.
Shakes Mashaba’s men, who are ranked 86th in the Fifa World Rankings were drawn in Group D alongside Burkina Faso (73rd ), Cape Verde Islands (49th) and Senegal (41st).
Bafana Bafana will be eager to redeem themselves after having a disappointing African Cup of Nations experience as they look to qualify for their first World Cup since 2002.
The qualifiers begin in October this year and run until November 2017.
