A lone strike by in-form forward Lebo Mothiba saw Bafana Bafana claim a 1-0 victory against SuperSport United in a friendly ahead of their Afcon qualifiers against Seychelles.
South Africa have been hit with a number of withdrawals due to injury with the likes of Thapelo Morena, Vincent Pule and Sibusiso Vilakazi being replaced by Thamsanqa Mkhize, Thembinkosi Lorch and Gift Links by coach Stuart Baxter respectively, while Keagan Dolly and Bongani Zungu remain sidelined with long-term injuries.
Baxter’s side did duty against his former Absa Premiership outfit and ran out 1-0 victors with Mothiba continuing his recent great goal-scoring form.

The 65-year-old revealed that he was pleased with his side’s showing against Matsatsantsa and remains hopeful that they can replicate a similar performance on Sunday.
‘I’m not saying anything now that I didn’t say in previous games, but nerves, anxiety and loads of things like that can affect our intensity,’ he told the media.
‘If we play with the intensity that we’re showing now and in a structure then we will pick our way through. But it takes time, I saw Nigeria took a while to break through as well as Libya so we need to be patient.
‘Our challenge is to reproduce the sort of form we are seeing now in training and that is our biggest challenge in South African football. We know we can do it but can we do it regularly?’ he concluded.
