Bafana Bafana were held to a goalless draw by Namibia during their international friendly match played at Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Under the guidance of Coach Hugo Broos, numerous players were afforded the chance to assert their presence within the team. However, the Namibian team exhibited unwavering determination and effectively prevented the home team from making any significant advancements.

The presence of custodian Lloyd Kazapua proved to be significant for the visiting team as he executed several saves throughout the match, effectively preventing Bafana Bafana from scoring and thereby playing a major role in the outcome of a draw.

“We said before the match we would give chances to new players to prove themselves, to show what they can do and that was the most important goal today. The result was secondary,” said Broos, adding that his players created a lot of chances but could not make them count.

On Tuesday, the 12th of September 2023, the Bafana Bafana national football team will make their way back to Orlando Stadium, where they are scheduled to compete against the national team of the Democratic Republic of Congo in yet another international friendly match.

Grant Magreman was awarded the title of “Man of the Match,” and it remains uncertain whether his performance was sufficient to secure his position in the team for the upcoming match on Tuesday.
