Bafana Bafana midfielder Andile Jali suffered a slight injury during training ahead of their must-win Fifa World Cup qualifier against Senegal on Friday.
The South African national team will face the Lions of Teranga in back-to-back fixtures in their bid to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Bafana Bafana mentor Stuart Baxter confirmed the 27-year-old withdrew from training after twisting his ankle.
‘Yes Jali left training in what I believe is a twisted ankle, however, I will wait for a confirmation from our doctors to see what is the injury and to what extent it is,’ Baxter told the media at Bafana’s training session.
Baxter believes the mood in the camp is a lot calmer after the arrival of serval players joining, who were recently on domestic duty with there respective clubs.
‘Things a lot calmer we worked on some of our defensive tactics today with all the players and tonight we have a team meeting with all the players which is great for our confidence,’ he added.
Bafana take will now welcome Senegal to the Peter Mokaba Stadium when the two sides go head-to-head in their must-win Fifa World Cup qualifier on Friday, with kick-off set for 19:00.
